Programs

Our Programs For Students

The Biotechnology Department provides four educational programs of study.

 

Biotechnology Laboratory Technician Associate Degree Program
A lab-based course of study for beginning college students who want to prepare for entry level jobs in biotechnology. Can be completed in two years of full-time study.

 

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program - One Year   
Eight courses for individuals with a BS degree in a biological science who want practical laboratory skills to improve their employability in the biotechnology industry.

 

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program - Intensive One Semester   
A full-time, one semester intensive program for individuals with a BS degree in a biological science who want practical, advanced laboratory skills and an intro to business to improve their employability in the biotechnology industry.

 

Bioinformatics Certificate Program
An evening course of study provided in collaboration with the Computer Department for individuals with college experience in the life sciences who want employment in the emerging field of bioinformatics. Bioinformatics is the application of information technology to the management and analysis of biological data. This is a good field for people who are interested both in computers and in biology.
