Application Procedures

Incoming freshmen, continuing and transfer students should apply for financial aid by April 15 of the year preceding their enrollment in school. Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and instructions are available from high school counselors or from the Financial Aid Office. Students who apply after this date will be considered for all types of aid, but some funds may not be available.

Continuing students who have received assistance must reapply each year in order for the award to be renewed. PIN numbers and FAFSA instructions are available applying online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

To be considered for financial aid, the following information must be on file in the Financial Aid Office:

  1. Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR). MATC receives this electronic record from the Federal Processing Center when an applicant designates MATC as an institution s/he plans to attend on the FAFSA.
  2. Admission into an approved associate degree, college transfer or technical diploma program. Enrollment in courses without acceptance into an eligible program does not qualify a student for financial aid.
  3. When requested by the Financial Aid Office, a copy of the student’s/spouse’s federal income tax form. Dependent students may be required to provide a copy of their parents’ prior year tax forms in addition to the student’s prior year tax form.
  4. Other documents as requested by the Financial Aid Office.
  5. Upon receipt and verification of all documents, the student will receive an Award Notice.
