Dear Students, 
    

  On behalf of the MATC Student Senate, I would like to welcome you into the amazing and diverse community that is Madison Area Technical College. With various co-curricular opportunities and excellent academic resources, your potential here is unbounded. Together with the Student Senate, you can support needed changes to make MATC a sustainable outlet for higher-education. 
      

The MATC Student Senate proudly represents and advocates for all students. As such, we encourage student input and involvement as we work with faculty, administration and students in a concerted effort to create the best possible learning environment for all students.  
     

 Student involvement is not only essential in creating a rewarding college experience, but also provides an avenue to gain invaluable leadership skills. I urge you to challenge yourself to “be the change that you want to see within your community,” as you further your education here at MATC.

Hi MATC Students! 

Welcome to Fall 2008 at Madison Area Technical College!  It’s great to have everyone back and so many new faces in the hallways! 
This is a special year for the MATC Student Senate.  It’s a rebuilding year!  All of the student leaders from the 2007 – 2008 Student Senate have graduated or transferred to other colleges.  (It was sad to see them move-on, but that’s what “success” as a student looks like!)   
This circumstance creates an opportunity for many new talents and personalities within the Senate.  There are openings for 16 new students, some of whom will become the officers of the 2008 – 2009 Student Senate.  This could be YOU! 

The Student Senate has been wildly successful over the years.  Just check-out the list of accomplishments noted in this website.  Past Senators have MUCH to be proud of and invite YOU to carry-on this tradition of progress for the students of MATC!  There are many important initiatives that need your energy and advocacy.  (Check-out the list of “current initiatives” in this website.) 

I invite you to explore this website for background information on the MATC Student Senate.  Then, when you’re ready to talk progress and involvement, stop-in and see me at the Office of Student Life.  We’ll talk about your first steps in becoming a candidate for the MATC Student Senate!
